indiana elopement dream comes to reality

Drake and Madeline were high school sweethearts who absolutely adored their quiet moments. They love the little details and the day-to-day hints of love. Everything from taking hikes together to going for Target runs and playing 1989 by Taylor Swift in the car ride over was a date and it was absolutely lovely.

So by the time he got down on one knee under a canopy of string lights, they already knew what they wanted for their wedding—a small elopement in their home state. Not knowing quite where to begin in planning an elopement, they reached out to me and we worked together to set up an amazing wedding day that fit them perfectly. They came up to Fort Wayne, Indiana and, despite the midwest not being the most elopement-friendly, we made the dream happen. After many phone calls to many parks and reserves, lots of driving and location scouting, and so much research, we found a spot where we could get them hitched—quietly and powerfully.

There’s something about a couple deciding to get married in the simplest way possible and in one of the most beautiful ways possible—in nature—that feels so awe-inspiring. The elegance, simplicity, and grandeur that comes with an elopement is indescribable. Everything else in the world fades into the background when it’s just you and your love proclaiming your vows around the few people you feel safe to do so around. I’m so glad Drake and Madeline wanted to elope and I’m so honored for the privilege of getting to document it.

Here are a few of my favorite moments throughout their day 👇🏻
